Insurance company settles 850 million cedis motor claims
Tamale, Jan 17, GNA - The Metropolitan Insurance Company (MET) last year settled motor insurance claims totalling more than 850 million cedis in the Northern Region.

The claims included insured vehicles and motor-bicycles that were involved in accidents in the Northern Region between January and December last year.

Mr John Mumuni, the Northern Region Area Manager of the company, said this in Tamale on Monday when he presented a check for 256 million cedis to authorities of the University for Development Studies (UDS) as claim for one of its vehicles involved in an accident last year and got damaged beyond repairs.

Mr Mumuni said MET would continue to perform its corporate responsibility to ensure that insured accident vehicle claims were settled on time to justify the confidence vehicle owners have in the company.

Professor John Kaburise, the Vice Chancellor of UDS who received the check, commended management of the company for the prompt payment and appealed to the company to always act promptly on claims made by the public.Source:
