Kufuor attends inaugural ceremony in Liberia
Accra, Jan. 16, GNA - President John Agyekum Kufuor on Monday left Accra to witness the inauguration of Liberian President-elect Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.

Foreign Minister, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo, Mr Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, Minister of Tourism and Modernisation of the Capital City and Hajia Alima Mahama, Minister of Women and Children Affairs accompanied him.

The inauguration of the first African woman president of the African Continent also marks the end of the over 13-year civil war in Liberia.

Also attending the inauguration is President Thabo Mbeki of South Africa, who made a brief stopover in Accra on Monday en-route to the Liberian Capital, Monrovia.
