Dontoh wins Afariwaa Invitational Golf
Tema, Dec. 24, GNA - Emmanuel Dontoh scored 46 points to win this year''s Afariwaa Invitational Golf Championship played at the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday. Anthony Ashiagbor came second with 43 points when he beat Samuel Afari on count-back while S. Ibrahim placed fourth with 41 points. In the Ladies category, Esi Cobbinah retained the trophy she won last year when she scored 42 points to emerge champion. Eunice Adzakpo took the second position with 39 points while "Lady Scientific" Florence Etwi-Barimah placed third with 38 points. Victor Brave-Mensah won the Professionals event with 67 gross with Eric Henaku coming second with 73 gross, Abubakar Sadik placed third with 75 gross while Baba Akologo came fourth with 77 gross.

The one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition, which attracted about 100 golfers was sponsored by Afariwaa Farms Limited. Nana Owusu Afari, Managing Director of Afariwaa Farms Limited called on corporate bodies and institutions to help develop the sport. Mr Felix Owusu-Adjapong, President of the Tema Country Golf Club expressed his happiness at the participation of the members in the activities of the club and asked them to do more in the ensuing years.
