Electoral Commission organises festival of Nine Lessons and Carols
Accra, Dec.21, GNA - Management of the Electoral Commission (EC) on Tuesday organised a festival of Nine Lessons and Carols to usher its staff into the Christmas season.

The Commission''s Ladies Choir and other seasoned guest artists and singers, sang melodious carols to spiritually uplift the staff, members of the Commission, representatives of governance institutions and political parties into the Christmas mood. Representatives of Political parties and governance institutions read the lessons.

Mr Justice Crabbe, a former Commissioner of the Independent Electoral Commission urged political parties to recognise the important role of the Commission in the country''s democratic dispensation. He appealed to political parties, governance institutions and stakeholders in democracy to support efforts of the Commission. Mr Crabbe said although most people did not often appreciate the role of the Commission in the country''s democratic rule, the staff should not be discouraged but continue to work hard.

He commended the Commission for bringing together some representatives of political parties and urged them to use the occasion to end all political differences.Source:
