Fabulous fans celebrate in style
Descriptive of their slogan, “fabulous,” some members of the Obuasi Kotoko golden circle 59, supporters union over the weekend took to the streets of the Obuasi municipal; in a victory keep fit exercise, to display ! their satisfaction at the team''s successful capture of this year premiership title. Dressed in their traditional red and white outfits, the supporters who carried red banners and kotoko flags started the victory march from Mangoase through the Fagum area to Boete, before returning through the Obuasi central market area.
The celebrators comprising some ladies and children were led in the about two-hour exercise by the circle organizing secretary Maxwell Frimpong. The exercise received a boost when one of the official sponsors of Kumasi Asante Kotoko F/C, Paramount distilleries joined themarch with some free give-aways to the Supporters.
When the march finally ended at the Mangoase Frankfurt spot, near the shell filling station, they were addressed by the circle organizer. Frimpong Maxwell said the exercise is intended to mobilize enough members, improve their health as well as educate them on good conduct when ever they patronize football matches.
He said plans are advanced to institutionalize a weekly keep fit programme for all Kotoko fans within the municipality starting next Sunday November 27th 2005 On his part, the promotional manager of paramount disti! lleries Henry Osei Akoto said Kotoko supporters programme coincided with a promotional drive on some of their newly introduced brands.
They therefore decided to join the circle 59 members in the celebration to enhance it
