Three casualties recorded in RTU-Kotoko match
Tamale, Nov. 7, GNA - Deputy Superintendent of Police, Joseph Pius Kesseh, in charge of the Mobile Force Unit of the Ghana Police Service in the Northern Region and two other persons are so far the only serious casualties recorded after the disturbances during the football match between Real Tamale United and Kumasi Asante Kotoko played at the Kaladan Park on Sunday.

Mr. Kesseh who had a fracture on his right leg when he was hit with a stone and Mr. Abdulai Karimu, who also sustained bullet wounds on his right shoulder are on admission at the Tamale Regional Hospital. Mr. Hashimu Alhassan Seidu, Principal Nursing Officer in charge of Surgical Ward Two at the Hospital told the GNA that the third person, Mr. Iddrisu Abdul-Rahman who sustained bruises on his body was also admitted, but absconded this morning.

No death had been recorded in the disturbances.

At the Northern Regional Police Headquarters, the Public Affairs Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Nana Ekow Yawson, told the shattered.

He commended hi men for doing a good job to quell the riot without many casualties, adding, "We did our work with a high level of professionalism."

Calm has returned to the Metropolis after last night''s disturbances.Source:
